- In cooperation with the Downtown Business Community, PDIDA initiated the
“Adopt a Planter” project. The program allowed business to adopt one of the
large concrete planters if they agreed to plant flowers and maintain it
throughout the season. In return, PDIDA encouraged them to decorate the
exterior. The program was a big success with nineteen businesses
participating.
This project was recently recognized by the Pennsylvania Horticultural
Society and Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful as a recipient of a 2007 Community
Greening Award. Out of fifty seven (57) applicants, our project was picked
as one of the best. We will be receiving our award on November 11th in
Philadelphia. Many thanks to all our businesses and to the Borough of
Pottstown for making this happen.
